Are you into DIY projects?
I am. I like to figure things out. That’s what I really enjoy about 3d printing and the reprap community. They are likeminded individuals. I also enjoy adding the DIY aspect to all of my Hobbies - such as fishing. I want to create my flies and lures, I want to learn fishing patterns. The same with gaming… I enjoy games such as Minecraft that allow me to experiment and have an aspect of physics.
Why am I doing this?
Because I scour the internet looking for people and solutions to my projects and I enjoy the idea of contributing to those communities regardless of the diversity of my interests.
Who the heck am i anyway?
My name is Matt. I have spent the past 20 years involved in Graphic, Digital and User Experience Design. However, as you can tell from my fresh off the shelf canned wordpress theme, I’m not here to talk or even think about that. For the most part I don’t want to spend my evenings reliving my day job to build a website for my personal interests.
What the heck is this website about?
Like many people, I have a diverse set of interests. I work professionally 10+ hours a day and when I get home, I just want to be with my family and do things that aren’t work. Don’t get me wrong, everyone should take pride in and be passionate about their work regardless of what it is. Some people like me need other past-times in order to stay fresh. I have numerous hobbies and interests, and over the years I’ve come to realize that all of them require a certain degree of specific knowledge and skill to perform well. That is the only common thread among them. Even in my gaming, I like games that allow creativity and some sort of skill and thinking to develop unique solutions.
However, that being said, some of my hobbies are interests I’ve been studying up on and and have no idea whether I can pull it off. I don’t give up easily and am ready for the challenge to learn and share. That’s what this site is about. Learning, sharing and seeing if there are other people out there like me.
